When i set this website up I was an elite semi-professional athlete. I thought the name was short so it could fit on my bikini bottoms! My beach partner and I both had the initials CK, so I was CK1 and she was Ck2. Now those days are behind me but the passion to inspire people to be their best and achieve their dreams through a loving kind and no harms way approach still ignites my passion. Actually, probably even more so.
Years ago I had a business coach who I told my slogan of be yourself to said it was a dumb slogan, as everyone always wants to be someone else. Now nearly a decade later, the same slogan I've always had is popular and in 'Vogue' or fashion as they say! Thus why I called the website www.Ck1.be. This experience also reminds me that you have to trust yourself and follow through on your dreams cos sometimes people don't see you vision. Believe in yourself and your vision.
Years ago before i had to have a big operation to remove a 5kg cyst I wrote a few songs. 8 years later after a long story (which you can read about later on) I manage to release a song that was about equality in relationship and this decision took me on a journey that my soul always wanted but I wasn't then brave enough to do.
All the different experiences through your life help you to develop the courage and skills to go after what you heart desires. Challenging myself through starting beach volleyball at 26 helped me to trust myself and showed me the steps broken down over time to achieve a goal. Once I made a commitment and a decision to follow through with finishing my first song, I just never gave up until it was finished. That song was called 'It's all about the love'. The next two songs also had a strong message and feel like they are very enriching for the soul and quite emotive in exactly the opposite ways. Eurydice Song is a deep emotive song about Violence against women. The latest song What FIGHT is a very upbeat song with a strong message against bullying.
Through all of these challenges and highs and lows along the way I have learnt many skills and had many triumphs and the older and wiser I get, the more I believe it is important to listen to that little shy voice inside you that whispers... could we try that!
